Joining a James Bond Island tour and cruise the Phang Nga Bay is the second most popular activity in the region. The area is situated 25 km north-east of Phuket. It consists of numerous dramatic limestone cliffs rising sheer out of the waters. The most famous one being James Bond Island with its needle formed limestone rock which featured in the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun". The muslim fishing village on the island Koh Panyee is another popular spot to visit. Canoeing through limestone caves into mangrove forests is included in the tours.

If you are starting from anywhere Phuket, it will not make sense for a 3/4 tour. Just going there takes about 40 mins one way.
Is there any way to only visit James Bond Island from Ao Nang? ?

You would need to look to drive up / get taxi to any of the harbours nearby and then you can privately hire a boat and captain, plenty of choice available.
Can I book a canoe ride later, if it is not included in my package ? What will be the cost ? ?

Should I stay Phuket or Phi Phi?

If you're looking for more larger resorts with tons of amenities, Phuket is your best bet. Phuket also tends to have more hotels closer to the restaurants and nightlife. If you're looking for a beach bungalow on a quiet, more remote beach, you'll find more of those across Phi Phi.

Well the island is so overrated. the place is beautiful,but very small fortunately there weren't alot of people on that day so we where ale to take pictures.If you have seen the movie its a great experience non the less.

We went on the day tour to James bond Island on the big boat. Our family had such a good time. The boat trip was long enough to take in the sights and fast enough not to get bored. The onboard entertainment from the staff was awesome. Especially liked the singing and the lady boy dance act from one of the tour guides. The kayaking was great maybe a little short though. Our paddler also did commentary and pointed out some perfect photo opportunities.

Very crowded and commercialized but some gorgeous photo opportunities. If you’re a James Bond fan then it provides a great opportunity. Just be prepared for lots of people and lots of market booths. You have to walk up many stairs to get the best photos and see the other side of the island. A 30 minute stay is plenty of time.
